Why Does Everyone Around Me Get Pregnant So Easily?

Why Does Everyone Around Me Get Pregnant So Easily?

"We're trying... but nothing is happening."

You’re 20, your friend is 35, someone else is 40… and they seem to conceive so easily.

Meanwhile, you’ve been trying, waiting, testing, and wondering:

“Why is it so easy for everyone else but not for me?”

The truth is, fertility doesn’t work on comparisons.

A 20-year-old can conceive naturally, while another woman of the same age may need fertility treatment. Similarly, some women conceive naturally after 35, while others may need IVF or other assisted reproductive treatments.

Age is one factor, but it is not the whole story.

Fertility can be influenced by several factors, including:

  • Ovulation and egg-related factors
    • Sperm health
    • Fallopian tube health
    • Uterine conditions
    • Hormonal factors
    • Endometriosis, PCOS and other conditions
    • Previous surgeries or infections
    • Sometimes, even after evaluation, the exact cause may not be immediately clear

And this is important:

Needing fertility treatment does not mean your body has failed you.

Infertility is not a measure of your worth, your femininity or how “healthy” you are compared to another woman.

You may look around and see pregnancies happening everywhere. But you don’t know what someone else’s fertility journey looked like, just as they don’t know yours.

So instead of asking yourself:

“Why does everyone around me get pregnant so easily?”

Try asking:

“What could be affecting my fertility, and what can I do about it?”

Today, infertility has answers, treatments, and solutions.

From understanding the underlying cause to exploring personalised treatment options, there is a lot that can be done.

So don’t spend your fertility journey comparing yourself with someone else’s.

Spend that energy finding the right fertility specialist, understanding your fertility, and working towards your family goals.

Because your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s to have a happy ending. ❤️

A Valuable Tip from Dr. Riddhi

Before you compare your fertility journey with someone else’s, check in with your own fertility.

A few simple things you can do:

✔️ Track your periods: Note your cycle length and whether your periods are regular.

✔️ Track ovulation: Ovulation predictor kits can help identify your fertile window.

✔️ Know your basics: Maintain a healthy weight, sleep well, exercise and avoid smoking and excessive alcohol.

✔️ Don’t forget male fertility: If you’ve been trying without success, a semen analysis is an important part of the initial evaluation.

When should you see a fertility specialist?

👩 Under 35: After 12 months of regular, unprotected attempts without pregnancy.

👩 35–39: After 6 months of trying.

👩 40+: Consider consulting a fertility specialist earlier rather than waiting 6 months.

And don’t wait if you have irregular or absent periods, known PCOS or endometriosis, previous pelvic surgery, recurrent miscarriages, or a known sperm-related concern.

One last thing:

You don’t need to prove that you can conceive naturally. You need to understand why you aren’t conceiving and what can be done about it.

Your fertility journey is not a competition. Get the right answers, at the right time.
