One of the most crucial aspects of fertility evaluation is tubal patency test. HSG or hysterosalpingography is the standard test for testing tubal patency. Principle method is to inject a dye into the uterus and check if it spills out from tube by doing an Xray. Saline infusion sonography is anither method which used Doppler ultrasound principle and normal saline as a medium to check for tubal patency. Last but not the least the gold standard test for confirmation is laparoscopy and dye test where one can seel live imgae of dye spilling from tube.Causes of tubal blockage are generally of infectious origin.
