It is a comprehensive assessment beginning with detailed history taking of medical problems,sexual and contraceptive practice of the couple.Next step is counseling and educating them regarding reproductive system of male/female,fertility patterns of both,fertile period etc.Examination of female including ultrasound,tubal patency test and hormonal evaluation is extremely important.Male partner evaluation mainly involves physical examination and semen analysis.Such testing is advised if couple is unable to conceive after 1 year of having regular unprotected intercourse.
